Movement sensor mats are a great way for anxious parents to better monitor their baby or child and have reassurance at all times that their little one is okay. An alarm sound on the parent unit if no movement is detected for 20 seconds. Other extras include a nightlight (I found them too dim to be usable), thermometers (the readings varied by a few degrees, so take them with a pinch of salt) and the ability to play lullabies or white noise. Very lovely and good product. Easy to use and set up. It has a monitor for you to walk around and hold while the baby is a sleep Read more

A few things to note- when my baby is at the edge of the crib (he’s a mover when asleep) it’ll alarm since the monitor is so far away. I’ve had to move the baby more centered in the crib when this happens. I fixed this by getting a cubby cove- then placed the monitor under the cubby cove, then a thin piece of wood, on top of the crib mattress. The monitor still works, which is fabulous! The battery unit lasts up to 8 hours when fully charged and there’s a low battery indicator for reassurance. The only thing I would improve is maybe to minimise the interference noise if both the baby unit and parent unit are close to each other. Tested by mum Gemma Wakefield for the Mother & Baby Awards 2018: Unfortunately, like the Phillips, this Tommee Tippee monitor occasionally lost connection during my testing. It worked throughout my house and garden but randomly dropped out of range for short spells when sitting still in the rooms directly below my sleeping baby. There have been times that the one warning beep came on, and it was enough to wake up baby to breathe again. I don’t think it was a false alarm- I think baby probably paused his breathing so I’m grateful the monitor beeped to remind him!The default mode shuts off the screen if your baby is sleeping and only comes on if it detects noise or movement, or if you press to view. However, you can opt to watch your baby continuously, though this rapidly drains the battery on the parent unit. I would recommend this baby monitor to fellow mums mainly because of how easy it is to use and set up. I’m terrible with technology but managed to set this up in ten minutes! It has a number of functions I did not expect such as the room temperature display and the two-way talk, both of which are really handy. I was dubious about the movement sensor at first, thinking the alarm would go off every few minutes, yet this monitor is so sensitive it can sense her breathing! I found the connection reliable throughout my house and garden for the first few days but then it went array and repeatedly lost connection. A shame – I became unable to rely on it.

The Angelcare AC327 emits more EMF than the competition in this lineup. While the jury is still out on the cumulative effects of EMF on developing systems, we believe less is better and err on the side of caution when we can. The AC327 emitted 3.1 V/m, which is high compared to the competition, some of which had no EMF. Should You Buy the Angelcare AC327? You can pan the camera around, tilt it up and down and zoom in. Like BT’s audio monitor, it’s easy and intuitive to use with all the buttons clearly labelled on the front, apart from how to move the camera, which isn’t instantly obvious. You have to press OK and then the crosshairs appear on the screen and you can use the arrows to direct the camera position. The overall design is somewhat frustrating because from the front of the parent unit it’s not clear which buttons do what; you have to look to the sides to see the icons explaining their functions. We love this monitor. Our son very soon decided he was going to sleep on his front and this monitor was the only reason we could sleep instead of lying watching him all night!! It really is great. Only ever had a few false alarms with the sensor pad when he wriggled right up to one end of his cot and lets face it, you’d rather have a false alarm than find it hadn’t worked when it should have. Great that you can chose to deactivate the sensor pad and just use sound monitor. Lots of different settings which come in handy, including a temperature alarm should you want it! We’re using it for our second child due later this year. Read more This Tommee Tippee audio monitor has excellent sound quality and conveyed my baby’s every utterance. When muted, its lights clearly flash whenever baby makes a noise. It has five blue lights in a horizontal line to show an escalating scale, which all light up when baby is loud and the far right one turns red when baby screams.

The baby unit can play a range of five soothing sounds, including birdsong, waves and chimes. The box says that it plays five lullabies, which is a questionable definition of the noises available. The sound quality from the baby unit isn’t great so the noises also sound a little fuzzy. It also has a temperature display and you can set a timer for hour-long intervals, starting from two hours. Immerse your precious one in a world of love, comfort, and joy with Angelcare®’s bathing collection. Designed to make splashing around a calming and safe experience, while creating lifetime memories. The Nursery Angel unit plays sweet lullabies which again, can be controlled through your handset. Extra Features: The Angelcare AC1100 Digital Video, Movement and Sound Baby Monitor is an all singing all dancing video, sound and movement monitor that is fighting for the lead amongst the best baby monitors. We have this and its brilliant! It only cuts in when it detects noise but my goodness it's clear! I have significant hearing loss and was so worried that I wouldn't hear the monitor. This has been brilliant... Not only can you adjust sensitivity and also volume but it lights up much brighter if it's loud noise. This works well for me and I haven't had any problems with hearing my little one.Bauer Consumer Media Ltd, Company number 01176085; Bauer Radio Limited, Company number: 1394141; Registered office: Media House, Peterborough Business Park, Lynch Wood, Peterborough PE2 6EA and H Bauer Publishing, Company number: LP003328; Registered office: The Lantern, 75 Hampstead Road, London NW1 2PL

I love this product used on both of my kids. Love the fact there is alarm for when the room is too hot/cold. I love that there is a heart monitor. The only down side is when the baby rolls of the mat and you are The Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor AC403 allows you to keep a watchful eye on your infant as they sleep. Comes with sensorpad which is placed under your baby's mattress to detect movement, an alarm will sound after 20 seconds of no movement, this can be adjusted. The sound quality on this monitor is excellent and with the volume up I could hear my baby’s sleepy breathing. When the parent unit is muted its lights clearly flash whenever your baby makes a noise and the lights appeared sensitive to every sound during my testing. It has five blue lights in a vertical line which indicate an escalating scale, with all of them lighting up when the baby is loud.I loved this product and it has really made a positive difference to my parenting, which is saying something considering this is baby number four! The sense of reassurance it gives by combining audio, visual and movement is outstanding and we were amazed at the clarity of the video picture, even in total darkness. It is pretty to cool to have all of these features at your fingertips and if you are a particularly anxious parent then the Angelcare AC1100 might be really helpful to you. This Phillips monitor has a small 2.7 inch screen for you to watch your baby, but shows a very clear picture in decent definition with good quality sound. Unfortunately the camera is static so can’t be zoomed, tilted or panned. The movement detection part is a large wireless square which you place under baby’s mattress. It needs to be laid upon a hard surface, so if your baby’s cot doesn’t have a solid base, then you’ll need to source a piece of hardboard measuring at least 33cm squared. Fortunately I found some scrap plywood in our shed to do the job and cover the slats on our cot, but it was an extra hassle at the start. Once I’d sourced the board, it wasn’t difficult to set up the monitor. You simply press into all the corners of the mattress to ensure that it’s registering movement everywhere and won’t set off the alarm if the baby is at the edges of the cot and then you’re good to go.
