About this deal

Discreetly pointing out to her that the scent was too much, unbearably vanilla-y with undertones of slightly sour apricot baby mush and gave me a headache? I received a mini of this today from a Seller that I bought another mini from (and who took FOREVER.

There it says: "Top notes are peach, apricot, black currant and raspberry; middle notes are mandarin orange, carnation and cinnamon; base notes are vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean and opoponax. Quiet then prevails for quite a while, and I subconsciously enjoy the pleasant, straightforward austerity of this lush, sweet-woody vanilla before curmudgeonly sounds come to me again. I like sweet scents, so this had me at vanilla, but after reading some online information, I was a bit worried. I accidentally got some on my finger while spraying it on a paper strip, the silliage was insane, very heavy and cloying though. I find it to be a bit too strong, but I have been wearing an eau de toilette for a few months so may just be too used to that strength.Perhaps it is the bergamot, mimosa and geranium slicing through just enough to avoid too heavy a cloying syrup. At this age I couldn't afford it yet of course and to be honest it was too vanilla for me at that time.

Before I went to bed one night, i sprayed it on me to make me feel better and I kept feeling its smell next morning. Hard to believe I made it through the 90's without getting a tattoo or wearing Casmir, but here I am. She’s effortlessly dramatic, realising that standing out too much when you’re this sumptuous can become a security hazard… so she learns how to pretend that she’s small. Casmir has knocked my socks off, and I bought it before I knew to look for the original Lancaster version, so I am speaking here of the Coty version.

has the true aroma of a scraped vanilla pod: intense and a little sharp, one of the best scents in nature.

I would love to have that original formula as well as Dior’s original dolce vita, from the same era. Luckily doesn't smell at all like Shalimar, it's not giving you headaches or nausea even if is oriental perfume. I do not detect much fruit other than peach but the creamy, dreamy benzoin, sandalwood and opoponax make for an intoxicating elixir of pure old style glam without smelling "old". I would say for those who enjoy “dated” fragrances but not all your friends do, this would be safe wearing. It might be body chemistry, because I despise soapy perfumes and this one does not smell soapy on me at all.

There's also a quick tinge of sweetness (maybe the vanilla or coconut) but I detect barely any fruits. I’m going to try this again in the winter with just a small amount layered over my favourite softer vanilla scent and see if I can tolerate it better then on my skin 🤞.
