Description

Steve Hemsley is the musical director of the band and is responsible for keys, special effects, and vocals.

One of their most notable performances was their concert at Wembley Stadium in 2017 as part of their 'Alone in the Universe' tour. There are a few pages where the registration is slightly off on the colors which will give a slightly out of focus to the images but they are thankfully rare. An exclusive 7" vinyl picture disc is included featuring two live recordings from the historic Wembley concert, 'Don't Bring Me Down' and 'Xanadu'. Additionally, the Deluxe copies included a specially designed ELO spaceship cutout, referencing the model that came with ELO’s famous 1977 double album Out of the Blue. Apart from Bev Bevan's 'The Electric Light Orchestra Story' (from 1980) I believe this is the only book written by someone who has been a member of ELO.

Like Smilla’s "Sense of Snow" combined with the best of Dennis Lehane, "North of Boston" is a dark and deeply atmospheric thriller with a sharp-witted, tough-talking heroine readers will be clamoring to meet again. This book examines the music recorded by Roy Wood as a solo artist, plus The Move, early ELO and Wizzard, while an appendix also covers the three albums recorded by the Idle Race. His production credits include Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Del Shannon, George Harrison, and even the Beatles on their two final singles in the mid- 90s. Making up the electric instruments is the lead singer Andy who has had an accomplished solo career with a voice hauntingly like Jeff Lynne’s.

Keen to still keep ELO's legacy ongoing, the band's drummer Bev Bevan agreed with Jeff Lynne to reform the band as ELO Part II in 1991. It does a good job of explaining what Jeff is like as a musician and producer, however there is very little detail about Jeff's personal life and childhood.

In 1965 he helped to form The Move, who weathered several line-up changes over the next few years while enjoying a spectacular run of hit singles, notably Flowers In The Rain, the first record ever played on Radio 1, and the No. In celebration of this amazing show and 50 years of ELO, Jeff Lynne presents the re-release of his book “Wembley or Bust”.
