Description

Stacked fin arrays ensure the least airflow resistance, which allows cooler air to flow into the heatsink. They offer a vast assortment of peripherals, heatsinks, fans, cases, power supplies, all-in-one liquid coolers, desks, chairs, and so much more. For the RGB edition, connect the 4-pin RGB plug either into a supporting motherboard, or LED controller.

Assemble the back plate by placing the through-hole screws into the notches on the edge and then locking them into place with the plastic end pieces. The very top of the cooler got a face lift which features a brushed aluminum surface finish for a more premium look and feel. Direct Contact Technology: 4 heat pipes with exclusive Direct Contact Technology providing effective and excellent heat dissipation.

This particular method I found is a bit easier to use than the metal clips found on the non-RGB version of the cooler. Even at maximum levels, the fan was almost silent, and could not be heard at all with the case side panel closed. The included SF120R fan arrives with a pair of mounting brackets that feel much more durable than the older 212 EVO design, and the fan spins from 650-2000 RPM (+/- 10%) for a max airflow of 57. The bearing on the new fan is very quiet, and the overall sound is barely noticable, disappearing in normal room noise. provided by a single Silencio fan located at the top of the unit, the same fan we recently saw on Cooler Master’s new Hyper 212 Black Edition CPU cooler.

The Hyper 212 Halo Black comes in a box sporting Cooler Master’s trademark colour palette – we’re talking a predominantly purple box with splashes of cyan and pink for added visual appeal.Cooler Master also included two additional clips for mounting another fan on the opposite side for a push-pull airflow configuration. With AURA we were able to sync the color and effect with his ROG Strix 2070 and the motherboard itself. As the cooler would be tested on an AM4 CPU/motherboard combo, the appropriate AM4/AM5 mounting bracket was installed on the cooling tower assembly - this was a two-screw affair that took me around 30 seconds to install in total. Moving over to the bottom of the cooling tower assembly, we see that the Hyper 212 Halo Black features four direct-contact heat pipes that are painted black so as to match the rest of the cooling tower’s appearance.

The aluminum top cover and nickel plated jet black fins, give the Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition a premium aesthetic appeal. This was likely due to the additional thermal overhead from using a better CPU cooler, where the CPU was able to run at higher boost clocks for a longer period of time as a result. In terms of idle temperatures, the Ryzen 5 5600 achieved an average CPU CCD1 temperature reading of around 34.Cooler Master has recently released its latest revision to its legendary Hyper 212 lineup, the Hyper 212 Black Edition. With the cooler secured to our toasty Intel Core i7-7700K let's see how this Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition performed!
